David Gilmour - London 1984

David Gilmour — Pink Floyd writer, singer, and guitarist extraordinaire — in a hard-rocking 1984 solo concert. This powerful show is drawn from the benchmark tour when David fully established himself as an independent artist, with his own voice — even as he was poised to take Pink Floyd into the future. Shot with great professionalism, this state-of-the-art film reveals sides of David Gilmour's music that Floyd fans were only then becoming aware of. Largely focused on the second David Gilmour solo album "About Face," songs include a number of Gilmour originals: "Until We Sleep," "Out Of The Blue," "Blue Light," and others — in moods ranging from tight, searing hard rock to contemplative folk-rock. Recorded live April 30, 1984 at the Hammersmith Odeon, London

Documentary broadcast by the BBC on 15 November 1994, produced at the time of "The Division Bell" tour. Although Roger Waters declined to grant an interview in this programme, the post-Waters era is only briefly mentioned (during the last 2 minutes). The rest is focused on the band's history with Waters. The documentary not only features interviews with all three members of Pink Floyd at the time, but also includes interesting interviews with several people closely related to the band: Andrew King, Joe Boyd, Mike Leonard, Storm Thorgerson, Ron Geesin, Clare Torry , Douglas Adams, and others. It also contains rare archive footage, such as extracts from 1968's "Tomorrow's World" programme and a very original film showing the band recording for the song "Marooned" in David Gilmour's studio-boat, the Astoria, with Bob Ezrin playing bass in this session.

Pink Floyd - P.U.L.S.E. Restored & Re-edited

This live album consisted of recordings made at various locations on the band’s 1994 European tour. The cassette version included two additional items - One Of These Days, and the pre-show, ambient Soundscape recording, which attendees heard as they waited for the concert to start. The initial versions of the CD edition included a flashing red LED within the cover, designed by EMI contractor Jon Kempner. Nick Mason said of it: "Essentially, it's a device which we thought was entertaining. It's an idea of Storm Thorgerson's which related to Dark Side and the pulse, and it's a live album so the box is ‘alive’. After that, in terms of seriously deep meanings, one might be struggling a bit.” In February 2022 the restored and re-edited version of P.U.L.S.E. was released which saw the return of the flashing red LED to the packaging.

Pink Floyd: Animals (2018 Remix)
10.0

The iconic 1977 Pink Floyd album has been remixed for the first time by James Guthrie. Animals is a concept album, focusing on the social-political conditions of mid-1970s Britain, and was a change from the style of the band's earlier work. The album was developed from a collection of unrelated songs into a concept which describes the apparent social and moral decay of society, likening the human condition to that of animals. Taking inspiration from George Orwell's Animal Farm, the album depicts the different classes of people as animals with pigs being at the top of the social chain, dropping down to the sheep as the mindless herd following what they are told, with dogs as the business bosses getting fat on the money and power they hold over the other. Although it's been a long time since 1977, the narrative of the album still resonates today as our social and economic situation mirrors that of the time.

Pink Floyd -The Wall Lost Documentary

It was August 1980, at Earls Court, when cameras recorded the frenetic operation of the entire load-in process. One editor, working alone for six months, was able to create this ‘behind-the-scenes’ documentary. The film successfully shows the magnitude of people and material necessary to mount this incredible production. The staging of this concert has been referred to as, “
possibly twice the size of any other show done in rock & roll thus far.” (meaning 1980) Perhaps more significant. this performance would be the last for the band with all the original members who recorded the album. In the melee of the breakup. this documentary was archived and forgotten for nearly a quarter century. Witness now the building of “The Wall” and”The Lost Documentary”.
