Niall McNeil

A musical western infused with the unique voice of acclaimed artist Niall McNeil, who lives with Down syndrome, The Ballad of Niall McNeil is a heartfelt and comedic exploration of family, betrayal, and the human spirit, set against the stylized backdrop of a spaghetti western.

An intimate look into the mind of Niall McNeil, an artist and performer with Down syndrome, and his unique chosen family. In Lay Down Your Heart, Niall introduces us to his many “family members,” his multiple “children,” his renowned “ex-wife” and director of the film Marie Clements, and other bonds forged through open-hearted creativity.

A genre-defying music documentary inspired by a medieval musical play created by an amazing company of artists living with and without Down Syndrome, including award-winning playwrights Niall McNeil and Marcus Youssef and iconic musician Veda Hille. Think "The Green Knight" meets "Crip Camp", but with songs.
