Masha Aksyonova is a quiet, straight-A student passionate about literature. Ivan Krasilov is her polar opposite: a charismatic jokester and a master of getting into trouble. But everything changes when, during a school field trip, the two of them fall through a portal and find themselves... in the very real Lukomore. The schoolchildren are greeted by a world of fairy tales, but it is no longer as Pushkin described it. The golden chain has been removed. The Cat no longer tells stories-he's suffering from a creative crisis, and Koschey is ready to turn anyone who stands in his way to stone.
