For Lu, the charming dog has a very specific purpose: to either jump into parked cars with men at the wheel, thereby attracting their attention, or to hide inside the car and emerge while it's moving – with the same result. When the driver then wants to get a closer look at the "crazy" dog, the following inscription can be read on his collar: "My name is Stork, owned by Lu Tiemann, Regentenstrasse 17." Many well-to-do gentlemen fall for this approach, such as a portly consul or a factory owner and privy councillor, next to whom "Stork" brazenly positions himself on the passenger seat.

'Love and the First Railway' is what this movie's title would mean in English. This is one of those films that depicts fictional characters participating in an historic incident. The actual first railway was built in England, of course. But according to this movie, the first railway (in Germany, at least) was built from Berlin to Potsdam, in 1838. I haven't the faintest idea if that's correct, but the people who made this movie do seem to take a great deal of interest in historical accuracy, so I'll take their word for it. Anyway, a title at the beginning establishes that this movie is set in 1838.

The Queen secretly follows with her aide-de-camp. in the train they encounter sonic officers, and the Queen not only dances, but at Vienna goes to the Arts Ball, where her husband awaits the Countess. Though masked, he recognizes her, and reconciliation ensues.

Forst plays Paul Hartwig, a wannabe actor who is reduced to selling books in the cold streets of Berlin. While pursuing his big break, he meets Lisa Brandes (Dolly Haas), another victim of the global financial crisis who has just learned a new trick: cheating horny old men out of their money by selling promises she does not intend to keep. Dedicated theatre man Paul decides to win her over by putting on an act, but a misplaced slap leads to unintended consequences. - Lukas Foerster

The landowner Fried von Barring marries the beautiful but extravagant Gerda von Eyff. Fried’s father, who was initially opposed to the marriage, seems to have softened his stance, until he is proven wrong. Without her husband’s knowledge, Gerda carries out costly renovations on the house, throws lavish parties, and seizes every opportunity to spend lavishly. Fried is forced to take out loans, and arguments between the couple become increasingly frequent, to the point where even a new pregnancy can no longer resolve their differences.
