After the coup d'état on September 12, 1980, a husband and wife wanted for political crimes decide to flee abroad. But their children are the biggest obstacle to this plan. Before fleeing abroad, they search for a safe place to leave their children. The couple finally chooses Mehtap Anne's home as the "safest place" for their children. The place where they left their children is actually the "Emanetçi Anne" house, where Mehtap, a former prostitute, takes in the children of other prostitutes who continue to work in the trade after she has left it... Some time after the couple flees abroad, they send an Italian girl to Turkey to retrieve their children. Deniz goes to his hometown for his aunt Feraye's funeral. Nigar first offers her condolences to Deniz, then hands him her card and invites him to her home to discuss an important matter. Nigar wants to buy the land that Deniz inherited from his aunt, which includes a vineyard, a workshop, and olive groves. She makes a good offer. While Deniz is packing up her aunt's belongings at her aunt's house, she finds her aunt Feraye's diary.
Fuat, a young man, loses his family in a fire that breaks out in their home in Istanbul when he is only 10 years old. Left orphaned at a very young age, Fuat survives with the help of his neighbors. Ali, a man of Arab descent, and Mehmet, a man of Kurdish descent, take Fuat in as their own brother and care for him. The only thing left of Fuat's family is a trunk. Fuat learns from a letter found inside the trunk, which was saved from the fire, that he has relatives living in Skopje. The young boy, who wants to find his relatives, asks Ali, whom he regards as his older brother, for help. Ali, who finds it dangerous to go to Skopje in the midst of the war, devises a different plan to avoid upsetting Fuat and reunite him with his relatives. However, things do not go smoothly for Ali and Fuat as they embark on a dangerous journey toward Skopje.
