An escaped convict is on the loose, and the police are searching all the doss-houses in the hopes of finding him there. A young journalist is sent by his editor to assist in the search with the aim of reporting on any interesting stories he may find among those seeking shelter that night in the local doss-house, and is eager to help with the arrest. Among the characters they encounter are a man who claims to have got away with murder, and an alcoholic former concert pianist.

This action-packed episode features one of the Devil Doctor's most enjoyably silly schemes to do away with his nemesis Nayland Smith. When Smith goes missing, it's up to Dr Petrie to continue the hunt for the Si-Fan, Fu-Manchu's secret society. On the trail of a mysterious man with a limp, Petrie disguises himself as a rough bargee to investigate a smoky riverside drinking den, the Joy-Shop Club.

The continuation of this action story tells about the eradication of a syndicate that is based and manages crime from a luxury cruise ship, which functions as a gambling place, brothel, drug center, and counterfeit money printing. It is Indra Sanjata (Advent Bangun) and Ben Murphy (Warren Fleming) who work together to uncover the syndicate's activities, which have taken Ben's sister, Margie (Marintan Panjaitan) hostage.
