The ghosts of thieves help a beautiful young countess save her inherited castle from modern developers in this comic horror/musical.

Together with her uncle and waiter Otto, young Renate runs a guesthouse high above the Rhine, which hardly any guests ever visit. When she suddenly inherits a vineyard in Tuscany one day, the three of them set off full of hope on the arduous journey south. However, the inheritance turns out to be a dilapidated estate, whose valuable wines stored in a secret cellar are known only to the devious wine merchant Brandolini. Fortunately, he has a nice brother who falls in love with Renate and helps her out.

This previously unknown 37-minute film shows a Heinz Erhardt in top form. The main actor, Vogelsand representative Zatke, joins the ranks of great characters such as Willi Winzig, the well-intentioned tax official who regularly gets tangled up in the ambiguities of his language.

Countess Franziska "is kidnapped" by a band of robbers. However, her father is not willing to pay the ransom so Franziska changes sides.
