A detailed investigation into the political and economic interests that, since the beginning of the 20th century, have pulled the strings of the arms trade, hidden in the shadows, feeding the shameful corruption of politicians and government officials and promoting a state of permanent war throughout the world, while they cynically asked for a lasting and universal peace.

The journey of Fernando Birri, the great father of New Latin American Cinema, has left a mark that begins at the legendary Santa Fe Documentary School and continues to this day. We access the personal archive of García Lupo while he was visiting it for the last time at the age of 82, after having decided to hand it over to the National Library for future researchers to consult.

In 1997 the Argentine filmmaker Fernando Birri returned to his home country to film a documentary on the 30th anniversary of the death of Che Guevara and the relevance of utopias at that time. Carmen Guarini decided to record those moments. A rough edit of this film was hidden away on a fragile VHS tape for twenty years. His poetry bewitched the audience. In Argentina, he is a tango singer as much as a rocker; in Mexico, the mariachis sing their songs. The film deals with the process of globalization based on the thought of geographer Milton Santos, who through his ideas and practices, inspires the debate about Brazilian society and the construction of a new world. Documentary about Argentina's last military dictatorship and the legacy of one of the most brutal waves of repression, death and horror in Latin American history. Numerous people—historians, musicians, journalists, children of the desaparecidos (the disappeared) and others—talk candidly about how difficult it has been to uncover information about the whereabouts of the 30,000 missing men and women who were kidnapped and presumed murdered by the military. The intensely personal stories about missing relatives and the scope of the military junta's repressive policies also explain why, even now, many people resist coming to terms with Argentina's bloody past.

This documentary takes a bold, unflinching look at the nature and consequences of U.S. foreign policy in Latin America.
