The Dragon Family
7.4

The Lung (Dragon) triad used to be one of Hong Kong's most powerful crime families, but its power has waned in recent years. The crime boss Lung Ying feels that their involvement in drug trafficking has resulted in costs that far outweigh the benefits, and he considers investing his wealth into relatively safe and legal industries. His second-in-command White Wolf and his frequent collaborator Tsui disagree with his anti-drug policies, and they plot to take over the triad. They assassinate Lung Ying, and they execute most members of the Lung family in a brutal massacre. Three members of the family survive the attack, and they start plotting their own brutal revenge. White Wolf is betrayed and assassinated by Tsui shortly after claiming power. Tsui is quite willing to kill or sacrifice all for his subordinates to secure power, but he might be weakening his own organization due to this mentality.

Chung (Max Mok) and Peter (Chin Kar Lok) are two loyal friends who move from scrape to scrape with the latter often being saved by the former. When a loan shark (Shing Fui On) and his heavies start to put considerable pressure on Peter because of his copious debt, Chung devises a plan that puts the villains behind bars. This proves to be especially well-timed when Peter announces that he is getting married and Chung himself finds also falling in love. Unbeknownst to Chung though, his new love is in fact the daughter of a wealthy real-estate tycoon and all of his subsequent attempts to earn a living are all being orchestrated by his potential father-in-law. These tests are put into perspective when Chung's nemesis is freed from prison and immediately sets his sights on revenge...

Carry On Yakuza
9.0

Charlie Chan is a boxer who goes to Japan to take on a local hotshot in the ring. A gang of yakuzas pressure him to take a dive, but Charlie beats his opponent senseless instead, resulting in a life-or-death chase in which Charlie and his coach try to escape from the angry gangsters. They are spared by the yakuza boss Yakoda, and their eagerness to impress him leads them to pretend that they are the leaders of an influential triad organization known as the Marlboro Gang. That gang doesn't really exist, and their ruse only leads them to further endangerment after Yakoda is murdered by one of his employees. Yakoda's widow sends their daughter (who speaks Cantonese) to Hong Kong so that she won't be next on the hit list, and Charlie -- still pretending to be a powerful triad gangster -- agrees to protect her. He and his friends must save the girl from assassination attempts and kidnapping along the way, as well as coming to the rescue of Yakoda's widow.
